Consensus Building Stage (January 2010 - Mid 2010)

The objective of this stage is to achieve the consensus needed to come up with directions for change to the existing Urban Renewal Strategy. We will review the findings of the Public Engagement Stage, including the choices and preferences of the public on different issues and options in this concluding stage of engagement. Activities include:

Radio Programmes

    Radio is an effective media for communicating with the community. A series of Radio programmes on Commercial Radio 1 (CR1) and Radio Television Hong Kong have been arranged at the beginning of the Consensus Building Stage to allow the Secretary for Development, URS Review Steering Committee members and the Chairman of URA to exchange views with the public through phone-ins, e-bulletin or e-mail during the radio programmes on the issues and initial directions of urban renewal. The Secretary of Development and the Development Bureau representatives will be continuing to attend various radio programmes as invited guests.

Consensus Building Workshop

    Objectives

    The Workshop intends to explore with stakeholders the choices and preferences expressed by the public during the public engagement stage on the different urban regeneration issues and options. The workshop seeks to identify majority views and build consensus on how the URS should be revised. The public is invited to attend this event.

Concluding Meeting

    Purpose

    The Concluding Meeting aims to present the major key directions for the revision of the URS, upon which the public will be able to comment. The public are most welcome to attend this Review finale event.
